If you follow Nice Kicks, you’ve seen their My 5 column. Welp, here’s our take on the simple idea. We’re calling it “My 9-5″ ’cause we’re on that 9-5 grind and need a shoe for every day. First up, Tactics’ Men’s Softgoods and Footwear Buyer Dave Y.

Nike SB Eric Koston SB – black/white/pimento

DY: One word, well, one made up word: Lunarlon. That high-tech foam makes the Koston one of the most comfortable, lightest and low-profile shoes out right now. Was in Janoski’s almost every day until these came out. They feel like socks, but they’re shoes.

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski SB QS – black/Velcro

DY: At this point the Janoski is nothing short of a classic. Slim, comfortable, durable and they look damn good with just about anything. Been a dedicated follower of the Janoski since day one. “For Daily Use Only”

Adidas Busentiz Pro – black/white

DY: Couldn’t live without these. Slim, clean soccer style silhouette that only Adidas could bring you. The unique toe box and extra long tongue give the Busenitz that extra bit of steez we all want.

Vans Rowley SPV - black/white

DY: Insert any low profile Vans here; Old Skool, Era, Authentic, Rowley SPV. You can’t go wrong with a pair of those classic waffle soles in the closet.

Element Emerald Collection Hampton Boot Elite Vibram – walnut

DY: If it’s time to do work, then grab a pair of these. Stylish and rugged, the Hampton Boot Elite with Vibram outsole is perfect for trekking in the forest or around town. Toss in a flannel and vest and your ready to chop some wood.

BONUS: Nike SB Dunk High Pro QS – “De La Soul”

DY: One of my all time favorite kicks period. The material story and attention to detail set these kicks a notch above the rest. These are the shoes that got me into shoes, so they only come out on extra special occasions.
